ART STORIES FOR MY GRANDCHILDREN

Billy Joel

It was seven in the evening and I was painting and tired and hungry ready to go home but I couldn’t stop painting.. I was in my gallery on Rocky Neck by the Madfish Grille and the door was open. I heard a man’s voice say ” Are you open? ” I did not look up but said, “No, but you can come in.” It was Billy Joel with a young woman. I said you are very famous , right? He just shrugged. I was in one of my painting moods so I said, ” Oh, you’re a celebrity look-alike.” Guess he did not hear that much so he handed me his Black American Express Card, William D. Joel. I said, “Billy, I was just busting your ass.”  As soon as I said that we became friends. He knew I did not care about his fame and I was doing my thing like he does his.
