In his homily at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church on September 9th, 2001, Archbishop John C. Favalora said of this corpus, ” His body has become the cross.”
The altar and lecturn are of coral rock quarried in Key Largo with inset terracotta panels fired at the Sculpture Department of the University of Miami.

Our Lady Shelter from the Storm is reminiscent of Hurricane Andrew that came through the parish. It is based on my design for the Gloucester, Massachusetts Fishermen’s Wives Monument. I did not finish my model in time for that competition but was able to bring the plaster model to Florida.
